Taking every opportunity available, and making them when they aren’t, Tony Stewart has announced his bid for the 2011Tums Fast Relief 500 Race Recap by Chief 187 NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship loudly with his third win of the Chase in Sunday’s Tums Fast Relief 500 from Martinsville Speedway.

With three laps to go Tony Stewart pounced on race leader Jimmie Johnson and out powered him to the checkered flag to claim his third victory out of the last seven races landing him squarely second in points, breathing down Carl Edward’s neck.

He is still far from competitive with three races left on the roster for his effort to win his sixth NASCAR Sprint Cup in a row. Points leader Carl Edwards salvaged a ninth place finish. And Ryan Newman, teammate of race winner Tony Stewart, rounded out the Top 10.
