Unique, talented, energetic, and unstoppable the force Melissa Jane, or MJ, who is known throughout New England and hails from Boston, is beginning to make waves across the U.S. and abroad. Through her collaborations with DJs Melissa Jane’s single “Remember” received mad airplay in both clubs and radio around the world, from Boston's DJ Caucajion, over to Buenos Aires with DJ Mariano Santos and across the globe with DJ Shu-Ma in Japan. The “Remember” remix by Japanese production team "Tokyo Angel" was recently released through Barzet Records of Tokyo, Japan.
2011 has been an exciting and breakout year for Melissa Jane who was nominated for the 2011 Best Independent Artist at the Boston Nightlife Awards. MJ gushed, “I couldn’t imagine living without music.” This makes sense for the songstress who began singing at the age of four wowing audiences with her stage presence, powerful voice, and charismatic performances. MJ has evolved from charming living room performer for the family to playing legendary venues such as Boston’s Fenway Park, Paradise Rock Club, Hard Rock Cafe and Gillette Stadium.
Melissa Jane’s arranger/producer for her single “Joy to the World” is the incomparable Brent Barlow, a critically acclaimed Singer/Songwriter/Arranger who has been active in the music industry for over twenty years. Brent is the former lead singer of the popular underground rock band "Slow Motion Driver" and his songs and arrangements have encompassed a number of musical styles stemming from Rock, Pop, R&B, Gospel, and even Classical. Their collaboration on “Joy to the World” is magical.
Melissa Jane, looking to 2012, is currently working on a new album with Bristol Entertainment Producer Rio (who has worked with Dropkick Murphys, Akon, Jada, Wyclef Jean, Swizz Beatz ) and is generating buzz with producers for Pitbull, Justin Beiber, Keri Hilson, Britney Spears.
