Welcome to the Friday Music Blog for the Indie Republic Network. It is encouraging to see the responses each week as they continue to grow in number along with the pageviews. This interactive blog is fun, an opportunity to expose the readers here to new and awesome music, and a break from the monotony of the workday. I welcome and encourage all to participate!
This week’s focus is songs that mention places. From New York to LA, Boston to Chicago, and Santa Fe to San Francisco, and any place in between, name the songs that have places in the title or lyrics. Remember to include the artist who performs the song as well.
Switching gears to NASCAR, the Sprint Cup drivers left Indianapolis and the Brickyard 400 and are back East for the second Pocono date. But first the Camping World Truck Series takes the track at Pocono Raceway on Saturday, August 6 at 1pm EST on Speed. On that same day the Nationwide Series converges on the Iowa Speedway at 7:30pm on ESPN2. On Sunday, August 7th, the Sprint Cup Drivers compete starting at 1pm on ESPN.
